dc.description.abstract1It is considered the issue of foreign language lexical competence as an important component of the communicative competence of future marine engineers. The article emphasizes the need and importance of studying terminological vocabulary in the process of mastering a foreign language of professional orientation by students of ship engineering specialties. The author analyzed the stages of lexical competence formation and noted the need for constant search for new opportunities and methods of its formation and improvement by future marine engineers.
